Eddie, Purple Butterfly on here was having core steroid injections and that helped her with the h s. They gave me one Keloid shot and it seemed to freeze my h.s., but now have psoriasis on hands and feet and was at doctor today getting more steroids to control that. I think you have had steroid injections before. My boobs still breaking out in blackheads but I clean them with alcohol and bandage with silvidene cream. Specialist said the boobs are fibroid cysts, but it is a combo of h.s. and cysts. I am going to send you a pick of what the Humira did as allergic reaction to my hands and is on my feet too. So, no it is never over. Maybe Baz has it beat with surgery. I am exhausted. Been trying to get treatment all day and out 🚨🚗 in shop. H.s. is an antiinflammatory disease. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease which I am still trying to recover from side affect of Humira. Have to rest now. Give out. Talk soon

EddieB, Been wondering where you have been? I have had h.s. for 30 years. 28 to 58. Mine is right now not flaring, but it will most likely flare again because it never goes totally away. I was on Humira for 8 months then that made me very sick.I had two staph infections and I developed psoriasis on my hands and feet. That went away since a Keloid shot and steroid cream, but I now wonder whether will have bouts of that all my life? Hon, I don't know why us? I do not know. I think it is from the devil 👿 though and not from God. I am very happy 😁 to hear from you and know that you are alive. Seek a specialist through the h.s. foundation in Pennsylvania. Can look it up on the internet. Maybe 🤔 one of them could do surgery on your groin. I don't know Eddie, but I know the frustration like nobody gives a d### and all that. We all care here cuz we are afflicted with it and want to help.

Hi Linda748, I have been taking Vit D3/K2 for 4 years now, work with a holistic doctor. It has been a game changer and Vit D had never been checked prior despite HS sufferers usually being low in Vit D. I have been an HS sufferer for 49 years since the age of 14 and no one (conventional doctors/consultants/specialists and so on) ever mentioned food or Vit D. They are not trained in nutrition. Anyway, I don't agree with what you say about the thyroid. The thyroid tends to be a victim never really dysfunctions of its own accord unless there is iodine deficiency/or overload. I eat carbs but very limited amounts (they are hard to avoid totally) but no worries the body can create glucose not derived from carb consumption as and when it needs to, I believe it is called gluconeogenesis. The liver can manufacture glucose from certain amino acids (proteins), lactate, pyruvate and glycerol (fat). A well formulated keto/carnivore style eating regime does not affect thyroid function generally ( I think some people can have a problem initially however when shifting into ketosis if they have low thyroid and are obese). When this is not the case a low carb regime increases tissue sensitivity to T3 and serum T3 levels decline. This normalises T3 range. Ultimately, the low carb regime gives the liver/thyroid less work to do to maintain normal thyroid function. The reason my thyroid got back into range from a hyper state was the significant reduction of inflammation throughout my body emanating from the HS. The dietary regime and exclusion of gluten made this possible. My blood work is checked regularly and is fine.

Hi Bonbon, I originally went down the keto route and it helped but not entirely. I wanted to reduce oxalates too found in some fruits and vegetables (you can google this for a list of foods high in oxalates). I learned about carnivore from Dr Ken Berry on You Tube (and there are others too). Carnivore is meat/fish and eggs, plus good quality fats. I went very strict carnivore initially but now allow myself a few low oxalate fruit/nuts and veg occasionally. The difference between keto and carnivore was night and day as carnivore totally healed my open HS wounds that had been open for years and then no flare ups. Plus, my over active thyroid has regulated too. I am also gluten free. I take a high dose of Vit D3/with K2. Hope this helps.
