I feel your pain Mr Shane I've been on Humira for about a year now and same as you I've always had or have flares I really can't remember when I didn't have issues with HS flares 35+ years I've been dealing with this shit and I'm not sure if the Humira is working for me or not but I'm scared not to take it I've never noticed a real difference ne and my dermatologist have spoken about Remacide for means she told me the decision to take it would have to be my own she stressed to me there are a shit load of possible side effects that could come about using Remacide So in bit trying to persuade you one way or the other I'm just saying listen to your body because no one knows you better than you if you decide to go with the injections please let me know how it works out for you because the renicade infusions are still in my tool box I just don't know what I wanna do yet I know you know but this HS is a real pain in the everything so God bless you brother and take care of yourself 🙏

Shane, the Mayo Clinic is one of the top clinics in the U.S. My Dermatologist is on top of the blood tests. She test my blood every few months. She told me on my last visit that if I catch a cold, I can skip the injection. Since being on Humira, I had about 3 flares. Most of the time, nothing. After two years, I wish it had worked for you. Since it didn't, I hope and pray the Remicade works. Be safe and be blessed.

Remicade (Infliximab) for Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Overview:
- Remicade (Infliximab) is an immunomodulator and a biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD).
- It is genetically engineered to act as an antibody, helping the immune system identify and neutralize substances.
- FDA Approval: Remicade is FDA-approved for conditions like ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, plaque psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. However, it is not FDA-approved for treating hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) but is sometimes prescribed off-label for HS cases that have not responded to other treatments.

Mechanism of Action:
- Remicade works by inhibiting tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), a chemical messenger involved in autoimmune attacks.
- It binds directly to TNF-alpha to reduce inflammation.

Administration:
- After initial loading doses, Remicade is administered every eight weeks by intravenous infusion in a clinical setting.
- It is available as a vial.

Combination Therapy:
- In cases of HS, Remicade is often prescribed in combination with methotrexate.

Side Effects:
- Common Side Effects: Infections (e.g., upper respiratory infections, sinusitis, pharyngitis), infusion-related reactions, headache, and abdominal pain.
- Rare but Serious Side Effects: Serious bacterial, viral, and fungal infections; cancer; hepatitis B; heart failure; blood disorders; allergic reactions; lupus-like syndrome; and demyelinating disease.

Additional Information:
- For more details about this treatment, visit: [Remicade — Janssen](https://www.remicade.com)

Note:
- Always consult with a healthcare provider to discuss treatment options and evaluate which may work best for you, especially when considering off-label use of medications.
