I've been using it for months now. It helps dry up my HS. I'm still on doxycycline and Clindamycin lotion seems to help tremendously.

We use the wash only on breakouts. Then use topical mupirocin.

Benzoyl peroxide can be part of a treatment plan for hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), but its effectiveness varies among individuals. Here are some key points:

- Usage: Some people use benzoyl peroxide in their HS skin care routine, often in combination with other treatments like clindamycin gel.
- Effectiveness: While it can help control bacterial overgrowth and reduce lesions, it doesn't work for everyone. Some people experience significant benefits, while others may develop abscesses or find it ineffective.
- Risks: There's a risk of developing antibiotic resistance when using benzoyl peroxide with antibiotics. It can also cause mild dryness, swelling, and scaling.
- Application Tips: Start with a lower percentage or do a patch test. Avoid applying it to eyes, mouth, or open wounds, and be cautious with sun exposure as it can increase skin sensitivity to UV light.

Always consult with a doctor to tailor the treatment plan to your specific needs.
