Cleocin-T is a new topical that I just got from my wound care doctor. It is for when you first start to get a bump, and is supposed to dry it out before it fully forms. I just started it today and the gel actually numbs the bumps a bit so it feels better right away. I'll let you know how the lesions look after a couple of days!

It took about 4 days for the new bumps to clear up, but they didn't get super angry like they usually do! Seems to work pretty well so far!

Here are some experiences shared by members of the myHSteam community regarding what has worked for them in managing hidradenitis suppurativa (HS):

- Direct Communication: Using "I" statements to communicate needs and feelings directly has been helpful. For example, one member shared, "I'm the woman who usually smiles and says I'm fine and tries to spread inspiration to everyone, even when I'm ready for all this to end. Yesterday, I finally broke down. I just can't fake it right now."

- Perspective Shift: Another member found it easier to cope by viewing themselves as a caregiver rather than the patient. They said, "It's easier for me to deal with my illness when I forget that I'm the one who actually has it. I allow myself to see things from the perspective of a care provider for an HS patient vs being the patient who's forced to rely on others for even the most simple tasks."

- Positive Attitude: Despite the limitations HS imposes, maintaining a positive outlook has been beneficial. One member mentioned, "Even though I can't wear a tank top or comfortable shorts, I will not allow my HS to ruin my day."

These personal stories highlight the importance of direct communication, perspective shifts, and maintaining a positive attitude in managing HS.
