Has Anyone Ever Had To Get Surgery For An Abscess Before?

I had to get two removed last year 😒 but was the greatest decision of my life. Even though I get new flares up, those two bad boys never came

Noom, I have had several in my groin when I was younger and just had one in groin incised and drained. They use lidocaine to deaden the area, then cut it and drain it Make sure they culture it. Of course, you are left with a scar. H.S. stayed it that area until I went thru Harvey and Imelda which was a lot of STRESS. Then, it moved into my breast area at age 54. I then have had two day surgeries, where left one abscessed twice, with anaesthesia and all in 2020 and 2021. Lots of imaging was done and it all said no cancer. I don't so far get in under my arms. Fear to say that as the h.s. πŸ‘Ώ devil will attack. I am on my 8th month of Humira, but has not cured it, but the boobs are drying up. Is helping some. Very expensive medication and suppresses your immune system. If the I and D is done right, then h.s. is less likely to come back over a scar. Not so on the boobs however. I am still having problems with that left one and it has had 2 surgeries. By all means, if you have it in your groin or underarms, my advice would be Incise and Drain in the doctor's office. I hope this helps you some.

Kilishtof, I am on 40 ml every 5 days of HUMIRA. I am still having flares. Maybe, they need to move mine up to a stronger dose. ??

Humira 80ml every 5 days is what I'm taking and I'm doing great now. Increasing it from 80ml every 7 days made a huge difference in my quality of life. I'm finally not having any problems. But NO DAIRY is the most important thing. Every time I have dairy I get a flar up and boil.

- One member mentioned that their doctor removes the infected tissue and stitches them back up, but they often break out in a new spot before the stitches are removed.
- Another person shared that they have had HS for 30 years and undergone multiple surgeries, but the infected masses often open back up.

I had three Surgery so far
I did it when flares were in active so freezing on them
I did the first one when it was active I was in worse pain in my life I feel single every cut πŸ₯΄
So it better to drain one and then schedule surgery when the cyst is not active and make sure you are on antibiotics like Doxycycline or minocycline
Also, I heard about erythromycin but never tried myself
It is the best decision when these F... ing flares are moving to the armpit
