🤔 unfortunately to say it’s a big jigsaw puzzle 🧩 and if you think 🤔 about it it starts off with puberty now that was a long time ago and if that is correct then it needs to be sorted before then really
Think 🤔 about how many years it has been active in the body and think 🤔 about how much damage it has done
It’s unrepairable if you ask me unless you are going to go down the route like me and have surgery and have the sweat glands removed just like I did and my next operation will be exactly the same again

I can’t see why people would not want to not get rid of it and have some sort of life instead of people saying put it in to remission because it will always be there and when it does spark ⚡️ off it going to be like a bomb going off in the body this condition is not very well recognised the doctors don’t know if they are doing the right thing or wrong thing that’s why you struggle to get them to give you medication 💊 and everything they don’t have the bollocks to tell you that they don’t know enough about HS but I have had several doctors say to me that they don’t know and I have said to them I know you don’t know infact I know more about HS than they do and even my nurse 👩‍⚕️ said to me you know more about HS than we all do put together and we’re do you think 🤔 the doctors get there information from ??
Easy answer a scientist 👩‍🔬 and they only know so much about HS so it probably will not happen in our lifetime sorry to say but that is just my personal opinion other people will have there opinions on this question

Since this is an inflammatory disease that involves a component of the immune system, it's not easy to treat. There are some clinical trials of medications in the pipeline, so it's possible that during our lifetimes we might get some better treatments. I expect they will be biologic-type meds like Humira but perhaps better targeted to HS. In terms of a cure, I think it'll be a while yet. There's so much scientists don't understand yet about how HS gets activated, and why. Like a lot of autoimmune diseases, there's a lot of research to be done yet to understand it before we can try to cure it. For now the best we've got is trying to treat the symptoms. That being said, I have heard from some people, especially women, that their HS essentially went into remission after they completed menopause, so there is a possibility that as you age and life changes, HS and its effect on your life might change and lessen as well. But there's no guarantee what will happen. Unfortunately right now I think it makes the most sense to assume this will be a lifelong condition we all have to manage.
