Hello Shameeka. I do something that never fail for me. When a sore, inflamed boil starts to protrude, I get Hot, Hot water and place a little bleach in it, soak a wash cloth in it and I keep applying it to the boil. Sometimes the boil burst right then or the next day. It definitely takes the pain and soreness away. I hope it works for you. šŸ˜€

Managing hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) flare-ups involves a combination of home care, wound care, and medical treatment. Here are some tips from the knowledge base:

Skin Care
- Gentle Cleansing: Use a gentle cleanser, such as a dermatologist-approved soap and warm water. Avoid harsh scrubs or exfoliators.
- Topical Medications: Apply topical prescription medications as directed by your dermatologist.
- Moisturizing: Keep the skin moisturized to prevent dryness and irritation.

Wound Care
- Bandaging: Bandage wounds to prevent exposure and protect the area.
- Avoid Picking: Do not scrub, exfoliate, pick at, or lance lesions to avoid infection and scarring.

Clothing
- Loose-Fitting Clothes: Wear breathable, loose-fitting clothing like cotton to reduce friction and pain.

Home Remedies
- Warm Baths: Some members find relief with warm apple cider vinegar baths.
- CBD Oil: Applying CBD oil to lesions may help them close.
- Turmeric: Turmeric capsules have been reported to help, even putting HS in remission for some.

Diet and Lifestyle
- Diet Adjustments: Avoiding dairy, nightshades, gluten, legumes, sugars, and other inflammatory foods may help.
- Weight Management: Losing weight can be beneficial, though it may be challenging due to pain.

Medical Treatment
- Medications: Antibiotics, corticosteroids, and immunosuppressive medications like biologics (e.g., Humira, Remicade) may be prescribed.
- Consult a Dermatologist: Always consult your dermatologist if symptoms worsen or cannot be managed at home.

Pain Relief
- Over-the-Counter Medications: Pain relievers like Tylenol can provide temporary relief.
