Total Hysterectomy

A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

I’m sure this question has been answered. Anyone ever had a total hysterectomy, uterus, ovaries fallopian tubes removed and seen an improvement with HS? I know my triggers are food AND hormonal.

If you think your root cause is hormonal, consider asking your doctor about taking Spironolactone. Has worked wonders for me so far, in addition to diet/supplementation. There are research studies, albeit small, to support using Spironolactone for HS.

I was on depo for years with no period... and I had flare ups constantly scale of 1-10 it was a 5.. I just got off of it in September and it's worse now a 10... with that being said, I would think It might be better with a Hysterectomy but I think the HS would still be there.. but prob just not as bad...

Well Trina, the fact that it didn't work is weird??? You would think if your HS affected you because of hormones, you would think getting rid of the source would make a difference???

I have been fighting for this one for 14 years! My HS is just one reason. I have the depo every 3 months and it helps. I am also curious to hear if it helps.
