This site emailed a video about HS and hormones this week and they listed the male-safe antiandrogen drug similar to Spironalactone. It’s Finasteride.

Another medication you could talk to your provider about is spironolactone. I was on it for a while but thought it contributed to lower blood pressure and nausea. If you could cut out sugar that would benefit you too.

Men can’t take spironolatone. It suppresses androgens (related to testosterone) and a common side effect is enlarged breasts. Men transitioning to be women take this drug, for example. There is a similar drug that males can safely take, but I don’t remember the name of it. You can Google it if interested.

OMG Richard!!!! I'm so sorry to hear that. One flare can do a job on us so you know about a flare under both arms. I'm still praying for all of us. I know what to do for flares in the groin but not under the arms. Try washing with Hibiclens and put Clindamycin lotion on it. Take care Sweetheart.
