What Can I Do About The Itching? It Is The Worst In The Groin Area.

A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

I am 60 and have been suffering with this since I was a child. Just recently was told it was HS. Finally a name to the problem. It is very embarrassing when I have a flare up. Right now the worst part is the itching. Can’t see GYN until late February. Don’t get much sleep because of the itch. Any advice would be appreciated.

I agree on the itching being rough. I use an essential oil combo that was marketed as an intimacy oil but works so damn well to keep my itching under control. I use it daily, just a little rubbed in the skin. Hugs to you.

Have you tried using an antibacterial soap? I use Hibiclens and you could get that soap at Walgreens. Helps with the itching for me for sure. Also, I would recommend going to a store and buy a natural itching balm that has no chemicals. Good luck to you! I’ve had HS since I was a child too.
