I have had those lumps injected with steroids..... not pleasant but it does provide relief if only for a little while.......

Potato poultice. I’ve suffered for years. Recently started using potato poultice for break outs. Draws infection out and helps inflammation and soreness x

Alcohol or spray hand sanitizer (if u don't have an open sore) helps me with hard painful lumps that sometimes decrease in size when I use these
