People with HS (Hidradenitis Suppurativa) have found various dietary changes helpful in managing their condition. Here are some diets that members of the HS community have tried:

1. Ketogenic Diet: High in fats and low in carbohydrates. Some have reported reduced HS flare-ups by avoiding sugars and carbs.

2. Plant-Based Diet: Eliminating animal products and focusing on vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, and seeds. Some avoid gluten and nightshade vegetables, which has helped them remain flare-up free.

3. Mediterranean Diet: Emphasizes fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins, avoiding processed foods. This diet is also beneficial for overall inflammation reduction.

4. Dairy-Free and Low-Sugar Diet: Early research suggests that cutting back on dairy and sugar may help reduce HS symptoms.

5. Whole Food Plant-Based Diet: Focuses on unprocessed plant foods and excludes refined sugars and oils. This has helped some manage their symptoms effectively.

It's important to note that individual responses to dietary changes can vary. Keeping a food and symptom journal might help in identifying personal triggers. Always consult with a healthcare provider before making significant dietary changes, especially if you have other health conditions.
