Help With At Home Treatment.

Hi everyone! Long story, but I lost my insurance at the beginning of this year. I had my last Remicade infusion in February and the only thing I’m on for HS is steroid cream and antibiotic lotions and metformin to be honest I’m not too sure why I’m on metformin. I do not have diabetes, but will continue to take it until I go back to the doctor, open enrollment at my job is not until November. I started semaglutide injections and I had one on my butt area forever and it went away. I have just recently had 2 surgeries one one each under arm

Hi Riley, so sorry you are suffering so badly! Besides all the medicinal treatment you are on do you do any type of food elimination? I don't think it's a fix-it-all solution but it may help some. Try removing dairy, sugars, high fructose corn syrup-found in SO many things- and limit red meats for a few days... good luck!

Here are some at-home treatments for managing hidradenitis suppurativa (HS):

1. Skin Care Routine:
- Use Clindamycin lotion.
- Activated charcoal body wash.
- Exfoliate and moisturize regularly.
- Hibiscrub or Hibiclens Antimicrobial Skin Cleanser.

2. Pain Relief
- Over-the-counter pain creams with Show Full Answer

Here are some at-home treatments for managing hidradenitis suppurativa (HS):

1. Skin Care Routine:
- Use Clindamycin lotion.

- Exfoliate and moisturize regularly.
- Hibiscrub or Hibiclens Antimicrobial Skin Cleanser.

2. Pain Relief:
- Over-the-counter pain creams with pramoxine, benzocaine, prilocaine, lidocaine, or menthol.
- Lidocaine 4% for stronger pain relief (apply thickly and cover).

3. Home Remedies:
- Tea tree oil (antiseptic and antibiotic properties).
- Vicks VapoRub on new outbreaks.
- Bleach baths (3/4 cups of bleach per bathtub of warm water, sit for two minutes, then rinse).
- Warm apple cider vinegar baths.
- CBD oil for lesions.

4. Other Tips:
- Use cold compresses for pain relief.
- Apply mild heat (warm compress) if the abscess is inflamed and close to bursting.
- Ibuprofen for over-the-counter pain relief.

Always consult with a dermatologist if symptoms worsen or new ones develop.
