Considering Surgery...What Was Your Experience? What Questions Should I Ask Dr?

I have HS in groin area, stage 3. I'm currently in a double-blind biologics clinical trial. Not successful but could be placebo. After this is done, I'd like to talk surgery. Looking for people who have had the surgery. What was your experience? Are you happy you did it? Recovery time? What questions should I ask the Dr? Did you get skin grafts? What do I need to know? Thank you!

The only thing I can think of is my sensitive to sun light. Other than that, I haven’t had any side effects. I do recommend it ! Hope this helps

Hi Lynda, did you get any side effects because of cosentyx?

Amanda293 yes, I was symptom free for 17 yrs. It was such a blessing. It’s reared its ugly head again. I’m on Cosentyx now, doing 1 a month now after doing every week for a month. I do believe it’s working!

Just remember if you have the surgery and core is not removed it will come back. Altogether before the core was removed on my groin I was excised 7 times. After the core was removed I did not have anymore issues in my groin area.

Thank you for sharing Lynda. I'm looking at plastic surgeons. You were free for 17 years (amazing) but then it came back in the past year :(? Sorry to hear that. Is it near the original site?
