I self treat naturally so I cannot truly comment either way. I will say, from everything I have read here and in other HS groups, it seems like the derms & docs are just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks & for how long. šŸ˜” There is a root cause for everything we deal with and suffer with but it's like no one cares to help us heal the root so we can thrive. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø Perhaps naturopathic & holistic practitioners could be the key, to HS and a lot of other things. Big pharma doesn't want us well...it would put them out of business. Healing my immune system is my goal...not supressing it. Just my 2 cents. Hugs!!

The only thing that has helped me long term is diet. I have been eating a zero carb diet for the last few years and it has made a big difference in overall health, including losing 100 pounds, and lowering blood pressure. The amount of HS symptoms has dramatically diminished. I know some people here have had success with a vegetarian diet. I did try that for a year, but didnā€™t see improvement. There doesnā€™t seem to be one universal answer. Thatā€™s part of the mystery. I donā€™t really think of diet as a ā€œtreatmentā€ but I do believe it is important.

Humira is working well for me, but I do wish there was an actual cure rather than just symptom management. Maybe someday!

Yes I take regular clindamycin daily and still get boils like every day or every other day. Was on humira but it didn't seem to work well so they have just kept me on the clindamycin for now
