Advice For Working In A Non-breathable Uniform For Work During The Summer Which Causes Small Flare-ups?

A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭
Mobridge, SD

I began working as a Housekeeper again, full uniform that is not at all breathable for my underarms and underneath my breasts. This summer in particular has been rough for my skin and I started having a little minor but painful flare-ups that began around the end of June, the building doesn't have good air flow nor air conditioning and I'm constantly sweating which lead to the flare ups since I'm unable to wipe myself off during rushes.

- Change dressings regularly to reduce smells and promote healing.

3. Warm Compresses:
- Apply warm compresses to ease pain and inflammation. Soak a clean cloth in warm water and apply it to your skin in 15-minute intervals.

4. Loose Clothing:
- When not in uniform, wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing like cotton to reduce friction and irritation.

5. Frequent Showering:
- Shower or bathe frequently with fragrance-free soap to avoid irritation and kill bacteria.

6. Avoid Tight Clothing:
- Avoid tight clothing and underwear as much as possible to reduce rubbing and irritation.

By following these tips, you can help manage flare-ups and stay more comfortable during the summer.
