HS Treatment And Products

What is the BEST treatment for moderate-severe HS in you opinions?

Has anyone explored international treatment (I’m in Canada)? I’ve heard of family and friends going to Tijuana for other complex medical conditions and have benefited significantly from doing so. If so where? What clinic? Treatment? Doctor?

What specialists do you see? I currently only have a dermatologist but it feels like not a lot is working to prevent it. I am starting to feel like a butcher block for surgeries…

@A myHSteam Member I have failed on simlandi (on it for almost 7 months) which is the biologic similar to Humira that’s why I am seeking other options… I am starting on cosentyx soon and hoping for the best. Thanks! And I have started CBD oil as of yesterday!

I would inject mine straight from the fridge and it did not hurt at all aside from the needle obviously

Did you inject the medication cold? Because that’s no the only time it hurt like hell for me, I was on it for almost 2 years.

The best relief I have ever gotten was the steroid injections from my one derm… the only problem is that I had to wait up to a month just to get a needle in sores which by that time I’ve already been in pain for a whole month. It’s too bad we can’t walk in somewhere the day we get a bad breakout to get a steroid injection because everytime I got one even the very next day the sore would be reduced in size and a bit less painful!
The one doctor actually specialzed in HS and all he could tell me was to lose a bit of weight and get on Humira… Losing weight didn’t even help ( I wasn’t even that much overweight maybe just a few pounds) and I tried humira once and the pain from the injection was so painful I almost passed out, it felt like injecting lava into my skin… and lingered for a few minutes. Tried it twice and I couldn’t handle the pain of the injections to be honest. I’ve tried a combo of heavy antibiotics and all they did was make my stomach feel empty 24/7… One doctor also said to try to see if any specific foods or things that may trigger it , but I can’t seem to find my triggers… It just gets angry when it wants to. The steroid injections were the best by far…

@A myHSteam Member you and me both! What were the specialties of the 3 specialists you saw? I’m looking into connecting with someone other than dermatology.
