Has Anyone Else Had A Major Flare-up Of HS After Having COVID?

A myHSteam Member asked a question šŸ’
Cleveland, OH

Unfortunately, I've had COVID twice. Both times, I had a major flare-up as I got over it. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen, or if anyone knows if there is any correlation between the two? (I have one theory, but I'm no expert... however, is it possible that as the virus dies, it uses the skin as one way to exit the body?)

Alex, it's really great to have a scientist on here! šŸ¤— Because of what I've been through with my HS and other numerous health issues, I don't trust modern medicine or doctors so much anymore. I do my own research on pub med and NIH and so on. When at all possible, I revert to homeopathy. But! Unlike the fanatical anti vaxxers, I still believe that there is a time and a place modern medicine. I just like to be informed. I'm glad you're here and can share your scientific knowledge. šŸ˜‰

It's a very difficult situation regarding the covid vaccine. Personally, I don't think I will be having anymore after a really bad reaction to my 4th.

I've had exema for years and topical dermatitis. I tried to keep it under control. In March 2023 I had COVID-19. After about a week I noticed a small bump in my groin area. Then there was two, three etc. They drain and bleed constantly. I've used a few things that was suggested, however the burning was so bad I was wiping the salve off. I'm in pain everyday. I used Tylenol to control the pain. I began a research to find something natural for pain. I found Kratom. I've been using it for about three months and it most of the time controls the pain. Since COVID-19 I've had many problems that I never had before. I guess I can go on about this awful disease šŸ˜”.
