Bleeding from a hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) lesion can occur for several reasons:

- Tunnels under the skin: These can connect lumps with blood vessels, especially in severe cases
- Large, infected abscesses: These can cause significant bleeding.
- Ruptured blood vessels: Blood may mix with pus when draining.
