I went awhile without shaving but recently i shaved about as close as i could get without cutting my open flares.. i feel like its definitely better without all that hair. The hair can irritate it more. Try cutting it with eyebrow scissors to lessen the hairs if you dont want to shave!

Yes, mine looks exactly like that! I usually trim the hair, with scissors. Or an electric trimmer. If that helps!
