Yes. Just started taking it in early December and it made HS more manageable for me. Smaller flares with very little drainage. Studies show things improve after 3 months of taking Spironolactone, so I’m hoping it will get even better.

I currently use it and it helps some. My breakouts are not as frequent.

Spironolactone has been used by some individuals to treat hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). Here are some key points from the knowledge base:

- Effectiveness: Studies have shown that spironolactone can lead to better results than oral antibiotics for some women with HS. For example, a study of 64 females showed improvement, and a 2018 study found that participants had fewer lesions and less pain after seven months.
- Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, electrolyte imbalances, skin rash, and hair loss. Higher doses can be more toxic.
- Suitability: Spironolactone is generally not recommended for men due to the risk of breast enlargement and is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

For personal experiences, it might be helpful to connect with others through support groups or forums dedicated to HS.
