Does Anyone Else Have Constant Drainage From Tunnels Even Without A Flare Or Cyst?

A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

I'll jump right in, I first noticed the smell behind my ears around 3rd grade. I've tried everything. If I don't 'pop' these at least every 2 days, they pop themselves. (They can pop up anywhere back there, they're not always in the same spots) They don't hurt, not swollen or red or anything until after I squeeze out as much as I can. I also happen to have Hyperhydrosis along with a few other debilitating conditions. I don't know what to do. I finally got a referral for a new derm back in Nov &amp… read more

I've had drainage in stage 3 for over a year. Wasn't aware I had that much pus in me. Me too, has had these outbreaks all my life practically. Since my teen years. I too at first thought I was unclean and started over doing it on the cleanliness. Then it's embarrassing, many sufferers keep it a secret for years. I myself took about a year before I went to the doctor for it. Its a disgusting and life changing disease.

What made me finally see a derm (also had hs since I was early teen) I had a little bump like that under my chin/ jawline, that I used to squeeze. One day, I squeezed too hard , played with it too many times, whatever , but it blew up. Had to get steroid shots into it , but that's also when I finally got diagnosed with hs. Believe me, someone here knows and feels what it is like to be going through a flare, no matter where it is on your body. You shouldn't be embarrassed, atleast not here where people understand the situation you are enduring.

I have constant drainage that never stops and hard knots that dont go away no matter how much I squeeze. My doctors going to have the tunnels dug out again, I already had this done before. They have to be packed with a medicated gauze after so they can heal from the inside out so I will have to change the gauze everyday.
