I have had Shingles twice now...Last time it arrived on Christmas Day. The Nurse tells me I'm not eligible for the jab for another 5 years... Has anyone else come up against this

She is wrong, Gill. Shingrix is approved generally for people 50 and older, but the FDA has also approved its use for those aged 19 years and older who are at increased risk. I'd say having it twice would put you in that category. For those who don't know, shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. Once a person has chickenpox, the virus stays dormant in their body. The virus can reactivate later in life and cause shingles. (https://www.cdc.gov/shingles/) It is the most miserable thing I have ever experienced in my entire life; I'm so sorry you've had it twice, Gill.
