I had a pilonidle cyst removal when I was 25. Before that, I suffered 6 years with incision after incision in the same spot from flare ups. The recovery was brutal!! I was without assistance from family or friends, so, I had a traveling nurse come to my residence in the AM and PM to change the dressing. I literally could not sit for 12 weeks. I could lay on my belly or stand. So , using the bathroom was even a struggle, being I am female.

Hi Nick. I have, I’ve had surgery 4 times now in my back. The final time I found a doctor who specialised in HS & Pilonidle sinus. I have had all my sinus tracts removed in my lower back. Recovery for each one varied, final op was stitches in one side which closed the tract and an open wound the other side to remove the cyst, recovery took 3 / 4 weeks
