Mariam, I hope you feel better. For the diabetes have your dr check to see if your vitamin B is low. Most diabetics are b deficient. My mother had diabetes for over 30 yrs and no longer has it. Here are the natural stuff used. Benfotiamine a type of vitamin B. Berberine it's a herb, that works similar to Metformin the prescribe rx. Black Seed oil. Using them will cause glucose to drop low so pls get dr permission before using them. My mom also lost weight and diabetes completely gone about a 2.5 ys now. I pray for healing over you, have a bless day. I'm not a dr, I just research a lot natural things that work. I've had H.S since the age of 12, I'm 48 now. I use a lot of tumeric mixed with salve, or clindamycin gel or liquid to help with flares & hydrocolloid bandages. đź’ś

It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed, but you’ve already taken a huge step by acknowledging the need for change. Here’s a roadmap to help you start and stay consistent with lifestyle changes for managing both HS and diabetes:

1. Set Intentions, Not Perfection: Focus on small, achievable goals rather than all-or-nothing resolutions. For example, aim to swap one sugary snack for a healthier option daily or take a 10-minute walk after meals.

2. Dietary Adjustments: For HS and diabetes, consider reducing sugar, eliminating dairy, and avoiding brewer’s yeast (found in bread and beer). These changes may help manage both conditions. Consult a dietitian for a personalized plan.

3. Exercise Gradually: Start with low-impact activities like walking, swimming, or yoga. These can improve insulin sensitivity and reduce HS flare-ups without triggering symptoms from sweating.

4. Mental Health Support: Stress can worsen both HS and diabetes. Incorporate stress-relief practices like journaling, meditation, or therapy. Online communities like myHSteam (url: https://www.myHSteam.com) can connect you with others who understand your struggles.

5. Short-Term Rewards: Celebrate small wins, like sticking to a meal plan for a week or completing a workout. Rewards can keep you motivated.

6. Build a Support System: If your doctors aren’t helpful, seek specialists like a dermatologist, endocrinologist, or nutritionist. Online forums and social networks can also provide guidance and encouragement.

7. Track Progress: Use apps or journals to monitor blood sugar, HS symptoms, and lifestyle changes. Seeing progress can boost motivation.

8. Be Kind to Yourself: Change takes time. If you stumble, revisit your “why” and start again.

Resources:

- Diabetes resources like the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).

You’re not alone in this journey, and every small step you take is progress.
