I Would Like To Know, On Average How Long Is The Healing Time For People Who Have Had Surgery?
I been suffering for at least 15 years and I feel like I always get the run around. So I went to the doctor the other day and I told him I wanted to have surgery. I kind of felt like he was trying to discourage me. He prescribed me some antibiotics that I got to take for two weeks. Then I go back for a follow up appointment. Any advice on what to tell him in-order to get what I want.
Hello, I’ve had wide range surgery on both of my armpits about 10 years ago and I can say from my personal experience with HS is that this was the best decision I’ve made as far as treatments. I have not since those surgeries had any flare ups in that area. Healing time for me was the typical 6-8 weeks.
Surgery under both arms was a great success for me also. However, after the surgery under my arms I now get them in my groin! I have had HS since I was 12 and am now 62. Just be firm with your doctor and stand your ground. You know your body and whats best for you!
What kind of surgery? I’ve had 2 skin grafts. In hospital now recovering from the second one. First one was healed after 3 weeks on a wound vac machine.
Healing after surgery was pretty quick. Mine in in my groin. 5 " of scar in the crease of ea leg. Alot faster than 6 months waiting for a boil to heal.
Surgery was very successful for me. I told them the last time not to pack the wounds. It is excruitiatingly painful to change the packing gauze.
