When dealing with an armpit flare due to hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), here are some key points to consider:

- Watchful Waiting: Sometimes, a single cyst may heal on its own. Avoid picking at or disrupting the area.
- Home Care: Use warm compresses, take NSAIDs, and apply topical antibacterial cream. Keep the area clean, dry, and covered with a sterile bandage to reduce friction.
- When to See a Doctor: If the cyst persists for more than a few days, grows, or reappears, it may need to be drained by a dermatologist. Seek medical advice if you develop a fever or other signs of infection.

My son has a deep lump under his arm that was not coming to an head so his doctor injected it with a steroid shot and said it should dry up within three days. This is his first flare up we will see how it does.

They are not going to heal on their own. Aloe Vera Oil for relief.

My first ,obvious, flare was in the armpit. I now have a large scar and pores that sometimes weep. To answer your question.. yes. They do sometimes heal on they're own. You'll start to recognize your symptoms. It's different for everyone. I get a tingle that turns to an itch and then the bump appears. After that it's a waiting game to see if it develops into something or goes away. I won't lie it's scary. Take care.

They might call down on their own if they are not sever but it will never go away it will continue to flare and get bigger. That being said the only way to truly get rid or a spot/ flare permanently is to deroof it.
