I'm a type 1 diabetic, so healing isn't one of my fortes. I need help as it's getting quite sore now.

I've had that same issue as well. I had a scenario where there was dead skin in the wound so i had to have an emergency doc clean it out so it would close. In other cases i just switched from bandage to no bandage so it can heal and keep it clean. Some of the larger ones take longer unfortunately

Speak to your doctor about taking Zinc which promotes wound healing and has been shown in studies to be effect for HS in high doses. I have no idea if it would have any effect on your diabetes so please don’t start taking Zinc without medical advice. I’m taking 50mg (with 2g of Copper because Zinc can deplete the copper in your system) and I *have* to take it with food and eat within 3 hours after that. I will experience extreme nausea if I don’t.

Hi Kalie, I’ve been seeing the nurse recently for advice on bandaging. I’ve been putting inadine (you can get these at your pharmacy) and then plasters over them. The nurse have said to keep these on for a few days, then change them, repeat the process until the wound looks normal again (healed skin basically!) I’ve found this has really helped me. Try and ring to see the nurse as they can give you bandaging advice, and should give you some plasters and all the other stuff!

Hey, thanks for the comments. I can't even get through to my doctors at my GP surgery here in the UK. You hang to ring bang on at 8am in the morning and all appointments are gone by the time you get through the call waiting list. I am struggling to see a dermatologist as I can't get through to the GP for a referral. 😔😮‍💨

Hi Katie. I would let it drain. It's coming from the Tunnel. Also, since you are Diabetic, you should go to the Dermatologist or your PCP. 😀
