Spotify has a great Playlist called "Songs about being strong, not giving up on yourself or whatever you are facing". Christina Anguilera's Fighter and Beautiful are my favorites. Find your strength in your favoirite music that uplifts you. Find strength in your hobbies (For me, it's art). Find your strength in your family and friends. Find strength in your internal reflection(Meditate?). Do not deny yourself that moment of self pity. Your pain is real. But find ways to move on and keep going forward. We've got this!

Magic healer will be your best friend. Be ready to keep gauze, bandages and petroleum gauze on deck. Be ready to limit activity at times because of issues with mobility. Pain meds etc. there’s definitely a community of people to support you, you aren’t alone!!!

I see a psychiatrist. That helps with my depression and anxiety over the condition and subsequent conditions I have gotten due to side effects.

There are so many health care professionals that refuse to go a step further by educating themselves on the facts. Some of them feel if it's not their specialty nor if they have any knowledge about HS that HS diagnosis from that patient it's simply ignored and dismissed.. So they skim over a patients medical record with out thoroughly spending time reading over that patients history. They simply put their head in the sand and keep moving on to the next patient. But aren't we all as human beings that just want to live a healthier life with-out any preconceived notions of discrimination, a life with out judgement, living with our dignity, fighting against this diagnosis that i didn't cause and certainly i didn't ask for. Constantly on a daily basis experiencing chronic pain, with some isolation, depression, dealing with different parts of my body enduring unbearable heat like i'm in a sauna at times. We just want to be heard, seen and respected and most of all wanting to defeat this HS diagnosis ripping it out at it's root or core. We all deserve to live a HS diagnosis pain free life !! .
